Emergency Loan Program
By Rev. Dr. Gregory Jones
The freedom recovery fund emergency loan/grant program has benefited six families since its opening in 2022. Approximately $6,000 was made available for emergency responses that were distributed or allocated to emergencies experienced by underrepresented community residents of color. Emergency funding included loans and grants for emergency bills, two utilities past due bills, and one issue of homelessness still pending. In each of these cases respondents were grateful for a model of emergency response that was available to assist them in their issue. These residents were also referred to other programs within the FRF.
The FRF committee would like to thank all the donors to this needs-based program for residents of color in our community. Together we can make a difference.
